Didi NG Wing Yin (HK/FI) is a Hong Kong Born artist-designer based in Helsinki. Upon completing a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2012, he went on to work in the furniture and interior design industry.

In his practice, Didi seeks to expand perspectives on wood crafting and highlight wood’s natural materiality through experimental surface treatments and hand-carving techniques. His dedication to wood crafting over the past years has resulted in small and large scale works situated in a space between sculpture, installation, and furniture.

Didi’s latest art collection was selected in both the curated section at Alcova 2023 in Milan Design Week and Collectible Fair 2023. His floor lighting design, Horizon was awarded as winner in the L A M P competition 2022, as well as his furniture collection, Alter Nature/Cloud was awarded as winner at the competition One&Twenty 2021. His sculptural installation Monolith was nominated as a finalist at Habitare Design Competition 2022 and was presented at Helsinki Design Week 2022. Didi’s work has been showcased in venues worldwide, including Finland, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, and Italy.
