Born in 1972 in Monte Estoril, Portugal, Alexandra Ferreira is a Visual Arts graduate currently based in Vila Viçosa, known for her work with marble. Her diverse artistic portfolio includes sculptures, photographs, and drawings.
From 2005 to 2021, she worked and exhibited in European cities like Berlin, Paris, and London. Returning to Portugal in 2021, she focused on exploring the ecological and economic facets of marble, challenging industry trends.
Imagination is a key theme in Ferreira’s work, seen in her ‘Daily Objects’ and ‘I am Not Afraid of Standing Up’ collections. The latter reflects her fascination with skating aesthetics, evolving into imaginary platforms for finger skaters.
Currently, she emphasizes her individual artistic exploration, with pieces featured in various exhibitions, including those at Prime Matter Gallery. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Ferreira ventures into design with ‘Monte Pinho,’ a line of marble utensils.
